Description
E7018-1 low hydrogen welding rods are designed to minimize the risk of hydrogen-induced cracking in the weld metal, making them suitable for welding high-strength steels and critical applications. Ideal for joining carbon-manganese (C-Mn) and low alloy steels that require X-ray examination for quality control purposes. Electrodes have a moisture-resistant coating used for welding in all positions. Electrode include low spatter, excellent re-strike characteristics and the ability to produce welds with an excellent bead profile and appearance. Slag produced during welding is easily detachable, which helps facilitate the cleaning process. Requires a minimum of 70 Volt AC open circuit voltage for optimal performance. Electrode should be baked at a temperature of 180°C (350°F) for 2 hours, ensuring its hydrogen control properties remain effective. AWS A5.1 Classification: E7018-1. DIN 1913 Classification: E51 55 B10. SABS 455 Classification: E5118/-4427H.
