Description
E309L Stainless steel electrode is a electrode used for welding stainless steel. High alloy electrode designed suitable for welding 309 and 309L stainless steel. Used for the dissimilar welding of 300 series stainless steels (e.g. 304, 316) and selected 400 series stainless steels. Suitable for welding horizontal, vertical (uphill) and overhead positions, except vertical down. Rutile coated electrode providing a smooth arc and stable welding characteristics. Low carbon used for welding stainless steel to avoid issues like carbide precipitation and intergranular corrosion. Meets the standards of AWS/ASME SFA 5.4, classified as E309MOL-16 and conforms to the DIN 8556 E22 14.3 LR 23 standard.
