Description
TIG tungsten electrode, 2% thoriated with a red tip is typically recommended for welding mild steel and stainless steel in TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding. Ability to withstand high temperatures, provide good arc stability and maintain a sharp point for precise welding. Made from tungsten and contains 2% thorium oxide (thoria). Thorium is a radioactive element and its addition to tungsten helps improve the electrode’s arc-starting and arc-stability properties. The electrode has a diameter of 1.6mm with a precise and consistent ground finish. A high-quality ground finish helps ensure a clean and stable arc, which contributes to better welding performance.
